Team Leader

We are looking to recruit talented and committed Garden or Grounds Maintenance team leaders, or gardeners interested in taking the next step in their horticultural career.

As a team leader, you will be required to manage a team of two staff comprising an experienced team assistant and a labourer / apprentice, to carry out all aspects of grounds or garden maintenance to exacting standards. This includes, ride on and pedestrian mowing, hedge trimming, strimming, leaf blowing, weed spraying, mulching, as well as plant and hedge installations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operation of activities
  • Setting clear team goals
  • Delegating tasks and setting deadlines
  • Creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
  • Monitoring team performance
  • Motivating team members
  • Identifying training needs and providing guidance
  • Resolving any issues or concerns
  • Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of your team

As an experienced team leader, you will already have supervisory experience, hold a horticultural qualification, B+E licence, PA1/PA6 license as well as experience using walk behind roller mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, blowers. Experience using ride on mowers would be an advantage.
