Horticultural Apprentice

Hours: 45 per week (including paid study time) Location: Hitchin

Job Description

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic horticultural apprentice to work alongside our experienced and knowledgeable Garden and Grounds Maintenance Teams servicing long established commercial and residential client’s grounds and gardens across the Home Counties and North London.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Cutting grass
  • Edging and Maintaining beds
  • Pruning
  • Leaf blowing
  • Hedge trimming
  • Planting
  • Attending Shuttleworth College 1x day per week as a horticultural apprentice

  • Enthusiasm and a genuine interest in horticulture
  • Reliable, hardworking and diligent
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Committed to delivering a great service
  • Basic level maths and English are required
  • A full driving licence and own vehicle is required for you to get to our yard each day.  

Things to consider

We invest heavily in our staff with ongoing training and development plans and career progression is a very real prospect for the best candidates. You will be required to attend Shuttleworth College one day per week to study for your qualification in horticulture.  

We work all year round Monday to Friday in all weathers with early starts. Our team are hardworking and focussed on delivering a great service.
