As the temperature continues to drop, a huge concern for gardeners is the threat of freezing weather and frosts that can harm or kill our plants.

Here are some helpful steps to follow if Jack Frost is on his way…;
All container plants and bulbs that have been freshly planted should be brought inside and stored in a cool, dry place.
Thoroughly watering plants will allow insulted soil to protect plant roots and also prevent them splitting.
Early shoots should be covered at night with a bucket or plant pot while larger plants/shrubs will benefit from a cloth or rug draped over them. By covering plants with fabric, the soil helps as a heat conductor so make sure it covers all of the shrub and reaches the ground. Be sure to take pots, buckets, fabrics off plants/shrubs as temperatures begin to rise.
